David Thomas, CCIM
David N. Thomas, a native of Atlanta, entered commercial real estate in 1965 after selling the family-owned retail jewelry business. During his first years in real estate, Mr. Thomas specialized in industrial sales and leasing. He later began syndicating land, apartments, and shopping centers. While manager of the commercial division of Barton & Ludwig, at that time the state’s largest real estate company, he syndicated over 15 properties in which he acted as general or managing partner. After the sale of Barton & Ludwig to Coldwell Banker in 1979, he joined Cushman and Wakefield as Vice President. In 1983, Mr. Thomas opened his own real estate company, Southeastern Realty Group, which evolved into Southeastern Partners, Inc.

During his real estate career, Mr. Thomas has been on the Atlanta Board of REALTORS® Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and has served on the Board of Trustees for the Atlanta Commercial Board of REALTORS®. He has achieved numerous honors, including "REALTOR® Associate of the Year" from the Atlanta Board of REALTORS® and the Georgia Board of REALTORS®, "Exchanger of the Year Award", and is the recipient of the Atlanta Board of REALTORS® "Phoenix Award" for ten years of outstanding sales. He has received the Georgia Real Estate Educators Association's "Educator of the Year Award" and the "Distinguished Career Award." David is a founding board member of the Georgia Institute of Real Estate and has twice served as Dean of the school. He also was a founding member and past President of the Association of Georgia Real Estate Exchangers (AGREE). He is listed in “Who’s Who in the Southeast”. Mr. Thomas has been involved in the sale of over one billion dollars of investment properties, leases, and exchanges.
